More fun with the Vice President

Cheney yesterday in Hawaii:

"We are standing just a few miles from Pearl Harbor, the site of a sudden attack. . . . Three years ago, America faced another sudden attack . . . .

"[T]he clearest, most important difference in this campaign is simple to state: President Bush understands the war on terror and has a strategy for winning it. John Kerry does not.''

OK, so what you're saying is 1) the 1941 Japanese military were terrorists; 2) America's military operations today stem from the 9/11 attacks, and thus our manuevers in Iraq consist of fighting terrorists, not insurgents (sounding an awful lot like Hallibush's pre-Iraq-invasion rhetoric); and 3) Hallibush would have prevented Pearl Harbor.

In a way I will be sad after the election, because however it turns out, Cheney will disappear again into the labyrinths of his underground lairs. It's kind of fun having him around.
